easily distracted

A cranky old woman bitching about some things and enthusing about others. The kind of Dragon Age fan that annoys people. Sometimes she blogs about Porcupine Tree (nay, all things Steven Wilson!), books no one else reads, art no one else likes, a life no one else would want. And Nutella.

These are my core cosmetic and hair mods, rather than everything I have installed.

Hair styles
Tucked Hair by tmp7704. Adds variants of the longer, face obstructing default hairstyles, with the hair tucked behind the ears. Includes some additional styles from DA2 resources. An optional file adds a few styles with earrings, these are not included in the chargenmorph but can be manually added for use in the character creator. So many other mods are dependent on Tucked Hair I consider it to be a required mod.

LOTC Hairstyle Collection by marquiseondore. 12 styles (some with earrings) for Human Females only. (The hair from this mod have some LOD issues.)

Additional Hairs for DA by boodrl. 40+ styles for females, 10 for males.

Beautiful People Hair REN by glee. 22 styles for females, 14 for males. Not especially lore-tastic. (Includes a utility to add the models to the chargenmorphcfg.xml. I get the best results by first combining all other chargenmorphcfg files with DA Chargenmorph Compiler, and then running the Beautiful Hair utility.)

More Hairstyles by kzelsama. Some overlap with Beautiful People Hair REN, and includes two styles from Don’t Worry Be Hairy

Witcher Aesthetics (manual install) by InBleedingRapture. One style each for Human/Elf female/male. The Triss hair may requiring an edit in the toolset to work; instructions are included on the mod’s page.

Witcher 2 for DA
by boodrl. One male style, two female.

(Bonus obsessive modding tip #1: A reference file of reference file of labeled front-and-back shots of all the DA hairstyles mods makes it much easier to use them in the toolset.)

Hair, eye, and skin colours/textures
Pineappletree’s Vibrant Colors [mirror] by Pineappletree. Hair/eyebrow colours, skin tones and eye colours. Will replace the vanilla eyecolours unless  the ‘Lite’ version of the mod is installed. As with Tucked Hair, many other mods are dependent on this.

White Patch Fix for Hair by marquiseondore. Fixes the white lines in hair that sometimes occur when using PT’s Vibrant Colors. Conversely, manually edit the offending *.mor file in the toolset as per Dragon Age Origins Toolset Tip – Fix White Lines in Hair by whuffie.

Dracomies True Textures by Dracomies. Part of Dragon Age Redesigned, but can be installed on its own. Again, many other mods require this. I also install the DAR for Dragon Age Toolset folder enclosed in the download.

LOTC’s Eye Textures by lastofthecouslands. A range of tint-able, iridescent and improved standard eye textures for the toolset (and character creator, should you opt for that pacakge). Will replace the default eye textures throughout the game. (‘Lite’ version also available: LOTC’s Default Eye Texture.)

PAngel Eyes by prosthetic_angel. Eye textures for the toolset. I like the ‘Tragic Eyes’.

Black Hair Is Black by Midnight Voyager. Replaces the vanilla black hair tint with a truer black.

CC Extra Tints and Tones [mirror] by Jaylo. Adds skin tones, eye and hair colours and a few hair/beard options to the character creator.

Bidelles Cosmetics by Bidelle. Eye colours and skin textures. I only install the toolset files.

Miscellaneous cosmetic mods
White Teeth by JOG. Improves the dental hygiene of everyone in Ferelden.

Elf Ears by Avaraen. Modifies the original elf preset heads to have longer ears. (Note that the longer ears will extend through most helmets.)

Eyebrow Presets by lastofthecouslands. This file alters the default eyebrow presets, giving them a nicer, more natural line, and allowing for more variation in eyebrow height. Affects the appearance of all eyebrows in game.

LOTC’s Female Eyelashes  by lastofthecouslands. Additional eyelash textures for the toolset. (Presets for the character creator are also available.)

Freckles and tattoos.
FrecklesPlus [mirror] by Rekicker. Replaces some of the default tattoos for use in the character creator, or rename the files to use only in the toolset.

Freckles Tattoo by cyberbyte. For use in the toolset.

CS - Freckles by ChingShih. Will override some default tattoos for use in character creator. I prefer to rename the files and use them in the toolset

Dalish Concept Tattoo by fallingangel89. One toolset-only tattoo based on Bioware Dalish concept art.

More CC tattoo colors by Roma Victa. Additional tattoo colours for the character creator and toolset.
